Your water, working properly.

A repair should end the problem, not schedule the next one. Bluewrench diagnoses before it opens a single fitting, fixes the cause instead of the symptom, and explains the price with you before any work starts.

"They talked me OUT of tankless and installed a quality tank for half the price."

Fixture finishes
What we do

One crew for every pipe in the house.

From a single dripping tap to a full repipe, we diagnose, fix and protect, all under one roof. Every service below carries the same promise: done right.

The honest call

Drip, drain, heater, or the pipes?

Four kinds of plumbing trouble, four very different price tags. Knowing which one you have is half the bill.

Drips & fixtures

Small, but never free.

Signs
Dripping faucet, running toilet, loose disposal
Call
Quick visit, worn parts swapped, done

A running toilet can waste 200 gallons a day. The fix is boring, the water bill isn’t.

Drains

Repeat clogs are a message.

Signs
Slow tub, gurgling, the same clog every few months
Call
Clear it, and if it repeats, camera the line before anything bigger

The third snake visit is where you should hear the word “camera”, not just pay for a fourth.

Water heater

It warns you first.

Signs
Lukewarm showers, rusty water, rumbling, 8–12 years old
Call
Elements and valves are fixable; an old rusting tank is a countdown

Tankless is great, and not for every house. The honest answer depends on your gas line, usage and space, not on the margin.

The pipes

The big one, rarely urgent.

Signs
Pressure drops, discolored water, wet spots, roots in the sewer line
Call
Spot-repair what’s local; repipe only what a camera proves

Nobody should replace a line they haven’t shown you on video. Ask to watch the footage, a pro will be glad you did.

Water running right now? Close the main shutoff first, then call. We’d rather walk you through that for free than sell you a flooded floor.

Straight pricing

Clear pricing. In writing. No surprises.

No hourly meter, no surprise line items, no “while we’re at it”. You approve one clear quote before a single fitting is opened, so you know the cost up front.

01
The assessment

We visit, measure every line and listen to what you actually want. Free, and it stays free.

02
Your clear quote

Parts, labor and cleanup, one line, one price. Approved by you before anything starts.

In writing03
Signed & guaranteed

The number lands in writing with a one-year workmanship warranty. If it isn’t right, we make it right.

The breakdown

What moves the number.

No mystery math. Four things decide what a plumbing job costs, and we walk every one with you before the quote lands.

Access & reachA fixture you can see is quick. A line behind tile, under a slab or in a crawlspace is the real work, and the honest cost.
Scope of the fixOne fixture or the whole line, a symptom patched or the cause cured. We price the repair that actually lasts.
Materials & fixturesPipe, valves and the fixtures you choose. Copper, PEX or a designer faucet each carry their own cost.
Permits & codeRepipes, water heaters and gas work need a pulled permit and an inspection. We handle it, and price it plainly.

Whatever the mix, it lands as a clear written quote, explained line by line.

What a serious plumbing quote includes, ours or anyone’s:
  • The job named exactly, not “plumbing repair”
  • Parts specified, heater jobs: brand, size, warranty
  • Trip & diagnosis: free or priced, said up front
  • Who opens the wall and who closes it, stated
  • Water-shutoff plan for the visit
  • Labor warranty terms, in writing
Per-job pricing or hourly, both are fair, as long as you hear which one before the van starts driving.

Where we work

Proudly serving the Portland metro

A lot of our work comes from a neighbor who watched us fix the house next door. If you're in the metro, we're just around the corner.

Older neighborhoods here still run galvanized lines from the 60s, and the first real cold snap each winter finds every unwrapped hose bib — that’s the local pattern behind most of our calls.

How it goes

From first call to done.

No mystery in the middle. This is the path the job actually takes, start to finish.

01
The walkthroughday 1

A licensed plumber comes out, walks the whole job with you, and puts a camera down the lines where it matters. We map every fixture, valve, and pipe run so nothing gets missed on a big repipe or sewer job.

02
Quote lands in writingwithin 24 hours

You get a clear written quote, line by line, with the fixtures and pipe material named. How the job is billed is explained up front.

03
We schedule and prep1-2 weeks out

We lock a start date, pull the permits, and order the water heater, PEX or copper up front so the crew shows up with everything. You know which days water is off and for how long.

04
The crew does the workday of the job

The same plumbers who quoted it show up on time, lay down floor protection, and keep the water on as long as they can. You get a text before we shut anything off.

05
Walkthrough and warrantybefore we leave

We pressure-test every line, walk each fixture with you, and hand you the written warranty and permit sign-off. Then we haul the old pipe out and leave the space cleaner than we found it.

Before you hire anyone

Five questions for every plumber.

Including us. Plumbing calls usually happen under pressure, literally. These five questions keep the pressure off your wallet.

01Is the trip and diagnosis free, or what does it cost?

Either answer is fine, the crime is finding out when the invoice lands. Ask before the van is dispatched.

02Per-job price or hourly, and when do I hear the number?

A pro names the price after diagnosis and before work, and it holds. “We’ll see how it goes” is not a pricing model.

03Are you licensed for plumbing in this state?

Plumbing is licensed nearly everywhere for a reason, water damage is a house-killer. A license number should come without hesitation.

04If you say the line needs replacing, can I see the camera footage?

Repipes and sewer lines are four-figure calls. No honest plumber minds showing you the video that justifies one.

05Who closes the wall when you’re done?

Some do drywall, most don’t. Neither is wrong, but you want to know who patches the hole before it exists.

Bring this list to the call. We’ll answer all five before you ask.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Getting started
Do you charge for estimates?+
No. Written estimates for repairs, installs, repipes and commercial plans are always free, we visit, measure, find the cause and talk through your options, and email you a clear, itemized quote with no obligation.
How soon can you start?+
Most estimates go out within a day, and typical projects are scheduled within one to two weeks. For urgent re-plumbs, before a move, a sale or an event, just tell us the date and we'll do our best to fit you in.
What does “free estimates” mean?+
Before any work begins, we give you one clear quote to approve, prep, materials and labor included. No hourly meter, no surprise add-ons at the end. You always decide before we start.
What should I do before you arrive?+
If water is going where it should not, close the fixture stop or the main, then leave the rest to us. For normal visits, just know where your main shut-off and water heater live, we find the rest.
Do you charge extra for evenings or weekends?+
No. Flat means flat, the price for a job is the price whether it is Tuesday morning or Saturday afternoon. True 2am emergencies have one posted call-out fee, told to you on the phone.
Can you give a price over the phone?+
A range, honestly framed. The quote lands after we have eyes on it, and it lands in writing before any work starts, that part never varies.
Will you protect floors and finished rooms?+
Shoe covers, floor runners and drop cloths as standard, and we vacuum our own dust. The only sign we were there should be working water.
How fast can you get here?+
Bursts and active leaks jump the line, usually same day. Planned work books within the week, and we text a live arrival window instead of a four-hour maybe.
Pipes, fixtures & permits
What brands do you install?+
Quality mid-range and pro lines we can get parts for in ten years, and any specific fixture you have already fallen for. If a brand is trouble, we say so before it is in your wall.
Are you licensed for gas as well?+
Yes, journeyman-licensed for water and gas both, bonded and insured, and every gas job ends with a pressure test on a gauge and a tag with our name on it.
Which finish fits my bathroom?+
Tap through the Fixture Studio above to preview chrome, brass, copper or matte black on the whole page, then bring your favorite to the assessment.
Do you handle permits?+
Yes, for repipes, water heaters and all gas work we pull the permit and meet the inspector. The signed-off paperwork lands in your project folder.
Diagnostics, durability & guarantee
How do you decide what the problem is?+
Tests, not guesses: pressure at the meter, cameras in the line, moisture readings in the wall. You see the evidence next to the quote, and you approve line by line.
What actually happens during the free assessment?+
Pressure test, water heater check, visible-estimate, fixture spot checks, fifteen focused minutes, then a plain-English verdict: urgent, worth planning, or fine as is.
Why do some repairs come back?+
Because the symptom got fixed instead of the cause, a patched pinhole in a failing pipe, a cabled clog in a greased line. We name the cause in the quote so you choose with open eyes.
What about hard water and pressure problems?+
Portland water is gentle, but pressure regulators fail quietly around year fifteen. We test yours at every visit, a $200 regulator saves a whole house of fixtures.

Let's get your water running right.
